UNWISE B.V. respects your privacy and handles your personal data with care, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch law.
01 Who we are
UNWISE B.V., Herengracht 420, 1017 BZ Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question you can reach us via our contact page.
02 What we collect
- Newsletter & access list · your email address and the preferences you choose to share, for example the kind of things you would say yes to.
- Orders · name, delivery and billing address, email, phone and order details. Payment is handled by our payment provider; we never see full card details.
- Contact · anything you send us through the contact form.
- Community photos · if you add a photo to "Add yours", the image and any handle you give us.
- Technical · a salted, non-reversible hash of your IP for spam protection, plus basic device and analytics data.
03 Why we use it
- To send you the updates and invitations you signed up for · consent.
- To process and deliver your orders and handle returns · contract.
- To answer your messages and provide support · legitimate interest.
- To protect the site from abuse and to improve it · legitimate interest.
04 Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We only share it with the processors that help us run UNWISE, each under a data-processing agreement:
- Resend · sends our emails, such as confirmations and updates.
- Cloudflare · spam protection (Turnstile) and privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics.
- Country lookup · a one-time check of your country, via Cloudflare's country signal or ip-api.com as fallback, so we can show the right payment methods.
- Google Fonts · serves the typefaces used on this site.
- Shopify · handles orders and payments.
- Our own servers · hosting and database, located in the EU.
Some providers may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
05 How long we keep it
We keep your data no longer than necessary: newsletter data until you unsubscribe, order data for as long as the law requires (Dutch tax law: up to 7 years), and contact messages for up to 2 years.
06 Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your data, and to object to or withdraw consent at any time. Contact us via our contact page and we will respond within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
07 Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. We use functional and security cookies from Cloudflare that are needed for the site to work and to keep out bots. Our analytics are privacy-friendly and cookieless, and we do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
